I bought a case of Venom! What did I get?

 


Finally got my case of Venom and I can't say it went badly. No, it went very well. So how about a breakdown of results?

First, I'm not missing any commons. I wound up with 4 or 5 of all generics. That's about as far as I go in collecting those so that's a good start. For uncommons I thought I was missing two of them at first but then realized the Symbiote Surface and Manhole cover were 26 and 27. So I have all of those as well. I got 2 covers and 3 surfaces. I also have a complete set of one shots, no dupes.

I have a full set of rares not counting primes so a full set of CURs. There were several rares I only got one of for a whole case and those were all but Gwenom, Maker, and Poison Spiderman. So rares are harder to get filled in one brick, but a case seems to do it.

Super rares from one brick to the next. Brick one got me Malekith, Agony, and Codex. The prime was Carnage Electra. The chase was Loki the All Butcher.

Brick two got me Lasher, Scorpion a spear and an ax. The prime was Scream. The chase was planet Klyntar.


But what about the legacies, you ask. Both of them were Venom Iceman. That means I'm still searching for Venom Capt Marvel (the card, I have the figure).

For me, distribution wasn't bad. Were they the chases I hoped for? Not really but I'll still play these. I didn't have any broken figures at all. I always consider that a plus, not blaming for them happening, but just nice to not have to use any glue.

Overall, I'm happy with this set's turnout. I still think it has a lot of offer especially in Silver. That's not to say it won't do well in modern. I think it will do great. That's it for today. How do you feel about your pulls? Let me know!

The Dungeons and Dragons set we've been waiting for?

  Considering that just about any DnD set would be amazing for heroclix, I have to say yes! The teaser image floating around the internet sets off speculations and excitement. I'm personally looking forward to what kind of crossovers could be formed for teams. Team building is a long-standing favorite of mine even though I won't play half the teams I create. I'm sure the beholder and owlbear were test markets and they went over swimmingly. But what we expect to see with a DnD set according to the image or just our best guesswork? Keywords: My first pondering was this. What sort of keywords can we expect? I'm sure we'll see mystical, monster, animal, warrior, and likely marksman. How about ranger? Wizard? Goblin? Demon? Undead? There are a lot of possibilities, and I hope Wizkids has a good variety to set off themes. Just imagine what goblins could do for each other. Gearing up for the Venomverse

 Set to release sometime in second quarter of the year, the new Venom set looks to be taking us off the rails. I've made some inquiries, but Wizkids is holding their cards close to their chests. I'm sure we'll see more soon however as this set looks to be a trove of great teasers to come. It's clear we are getting a new Venom Thanos, and I can't wait to see how he differs from the one in Beyond Amazing. If we get to keep Spiderverse through this year's rotation, the crossover for teams could be hot. Even then, what you get for Silver has high potential.  Taking a look at Poison Captain America, I have to say I wish he was an Avenger, but then I didn't read the Venomverse stories. I have to admit I don't know entirely what he's about. I haven't seen these hive figures, but putting out dudes is a decent ability. It works pretty well for figures like Dormammu.
