The Dungeons and Dragons set we've been waiting for?

Considering that just about any DnD set would be amazing for heroclix, I have to say yes! The teaser image floating around the internet sets off speculations and excitement. I'm personally looking forward to what kind of crossovers could be formed for teams. Team building is a long-standing favorite of mine even though I won't play half the teams I create.

I'm sure the beholder and owlbear were test markets and they went over swimmingly. But what we expect to see with a DnD set according to the image or just our best guesswork?

Keywords: My first pondering was this. What sort of keywords can we expect? I'm sure we'll see mystical, monster, animal, warrior, and likely marksman. How about ranger? Wizard? Goblin? Demon? Undead? There are a lot of possibilities, and I hope Wizkids has a good variety to set off themes. Just imagine what goblins could do for each other. Pathfinder could be a clever keyword, but maybe too clever. And of course, one crazy generic keyword would be "hero".

Equipment: In the image we can see a small item that appears to be some sort of equipment, but I can't tell what it might be. Even so, I think we can expect son interesting equipment and traditional weaponry. Perhaps an Elven bow or a Barbarian axe. A rogue's lockpicks could give some improved movement through blocking perhaps? Way too early to say for sure but I know all our minds are getting flayed with ideas (I know... grooooaaaan).

Team Abilities: I think cosmic, underworld, and mystics will be there, but what would we see for other more DnD based team abilities? The guilds perhaps?

Oversized? I find that an odd descriptor for a figure. Are we talking about 1x2 mostly? And what will these be? I'm sure we'll see at least one dragon, right? Right? Will the boosters be more like Wheels of Vengeance, so a larger figure fits better? Basically, all of them super booster size? Will there be any colossals?

D20? Will there still be extra use of it?

Maps: Okay, a minotaur's labyrinth please! A castle layout would be nice or a quaint village about to be ransacked. The options for some truly unique maps are wide open. Even a fantasy tavern would be fun.

And really, we could go on for days on what sort of all figures we will get? Gelatinous cube? We see what looks like a mindflayer and is that a barbarian or a minotaur? Will we see some famous names from DnD lore? What could this mean for con figures? Well, I have a special idea for that to top off this article.

The convention figure of the ages, Gary Gygax. We've seen it done with Stan Lee, Scott Porter and a few influencers. Nothing speaks for DnD like the godfather of dice himself. Once per turn he could reroll any d20 roll from anywhere on the map with a favorite saying among DMs "Are you sure about that?" He'd be full of probability control possibly with yet another twist where he just rerolls one of your dice. And maybe the ultimate DM has "dungeon walking" for special placements on the map? Because you aren't tying that guy down. Shape change 4-6?

What would you give Gary for a dial? Let me know in comments and as always keep rolling those boxcars!
