Venomverse unboxings are happening!

 And the community is stoked. Scott Porter's Day One of unboxing lit up Youtube and Facebook with over 3300 views and counting. The sculpts look pretty decent and a new sideline element is coming into play. It feels like a new spin on an alter ego combined with pilot traits. This will take up sideline slots for your team building if you want multiple options from one game to the next. 

Eddie Brock is the first example with any choice of a character named Venom put on his card to give him all the powers of a chosen click. But Mac Gargan has the most diversity in choices so far with four different character names to choose from. One caveat is that you can only use displayed standard powers, so no special power hacks will come from this. Even so, while another whole Spider-man set is legal to combine, modern selections look powerful.

The next element I see taking the map by storm is the new water terrain, Symbiote Surface. It promises to be a significant disruption to movement on any map. It looks powerful because, for now, it's slime generation does not include "line of fire". So, terrain will have no effect on where slime markers can be generated, and 4 spaces is strong on a 16x16 map. Being that they are not unique, you can build with up to 3 on your force and that doesn't include other ways to "generate" this terrain that haven't been revealed yet. You better be ready to use it, because it's going to get used on you.

Of course, not being able to use movement abilities does not mean you can't move or have to break away, but you won't be using phasing or hypersonic speed (to a point), and you won't have any special improvements otherwise listed on your card. 

Here's a question for you; if a character like maybe, Namor generates a space of "water terrain", can this be subbed in for its classification as "water terrain"? Feel free to put your two cents in on that or show us the clarification that I probably already missed ;).
