The X-men Silver You Didn't X-pect
I like to do things opponents won't likely expect me to do. In this case I think I hit the bullseye. I also would hope my team build is effective and maybe even a challenge to face. You'll have to decide for yourself how you'd play this.
First of all, with credit to HCUnits you can view this team HERE, but here is a screen grab as well.
The first character I was thinking of was Dust. I know she isn't a favorite or anywhere close to meta right now, but I wanted to build a team she could be a bit useful on. Giving her the universal weapon expands that use well. Her free smoke cloud comes in handy after Cyclops pulls everyone together. So that second turn trick is definitely part of the strategy here. Keeping Dust where she can smoke cloud the front line.
I'm sure your first thought is "why Absorbing man?". As a distraction. A great deal of this wild mixup is designed as a head scratcher while still having offensive value in combat. You won't likely see him come out on the map, but he'll create extra activity for both of you. No one wants that guy to join the X-men.
Animal Man, still a big favorite on so many teams is great for Hope Summers. He fills the gaps on any power combos she winds up with even if there's a chance of being redundant. Then I got expensive with Venom Marvel Girl (my nod toward the venom set just for fun) with Mjolnir. Hey, she can reach through her friends already for placement, mind control, and now anything else.
Beast needs to get in someone's face, and you have a couple ways to defend him on that front. He's usually the first target because of his triple outwit. Turn those into wasted attacks to the rest of your force is open to assault.
This team is highly flexible on power use and capable of some surprise damage after it's underestimated a couple of times. Don't be afraid to cross poison with dust cloud damage. That's damage potential every turn.
What do you think of this crazy team? Too crazy for you? Let me know in comments.
