Team Building: The Skrull 800
I like Skrulls! I like them to the point of making an open play golden age team that I think would be fun to play. Here is the screen shot, and here is the LINK.
For 800 points it's not a lot of Skrulls but with the abilities onboard I think they can manage. Particularly the Generals. I would put them each at opposite corners of the map to make sure I have them as long as possible. In case you don't know, the Generals make it so when a Skrull makes their shape change roll, the attacker can't target another Skrull, effectively ending that character's action.
Super Skrull loves the Universal Weapon because if anyone needs choices of powers it's him. This is by far my favorite version of him even with a newer version out there. I enjoy the diverse options that keep him at top form in combat.
Silver Surfer gets Animal Man as I've always had him go down first in games. People just don't like him over Super Skrull for some reason.
Hulkling sort of leads the team being good for his points and giving him the +1 sword just puts the icing on his cake. CCE means he can just smash 'em and later he can reposition the enemy for easier hits from the rest of the team.
You'll note the three 10th Anniversary Skrull chases as part of the team, giving my whole force three extra team abilities. Their weird point values make the actual build total 794, but 6 points short is no big deal. I could put something on one of my Generals to fill that in I guess. I just haven't bothered so far. Or I guess I could put in a trap terrain. What would you use?
I realize this is a far from meta team and likely wouldn't survive a highly meta opponent, but if played in a more casual format (yeah, I know that doesn't happen) they could go the distance. Played right, they might not go down all that fast? I've never gotten a chance to test it out, so who knows? I'll tell you what, if I do get to test it, I'll tell you how it goes.
If you built a Skrull team now, how would you do it? Don't just tell me you wouldn't use what I did, tell me your build!
