Long Time Player

I've been playing Heroclix ever since the game came out. I know that isn't all that special, but it's true. This game has had more twists and turns in its functionality than a corn maze in a horror movie. Please know I say that with love.

After all, Heroclix is why I don't by comic books anymore. I just can't afford that many vices. Especially with both going up in price like it's a hobby of the hobby to do so. Again, said with love.

I'm starting this blog to talk about my favorite game and share things like opinions, team builds, and maybe some interesting future reports if I can get my grubby mitts on them. Today is likes and dislikes of where the game is. I try to be balanced and fair in my observations, but everyone has opinions. Not everyone will like mine.

For one, I love how sculpts are coming out lately with X-men and Strange Tales. They really look great, although one figure in ST leaves me scratching my skull. It might be a weird take, but Bloodstorm should be a giant. Just look at him, he's huge. And he shouldn't outshine poor Dormammu either. Seems like a missed opportunity to me. That's not a major complaint, rather an offhand musing. But seriously look at him.

Also on sculpts, I don't love that we still can't have consistency in size even though it was promised by Wizkids. Again, an offhand gripe that doesn't affect or lessen my addiction in any way. Nothing I say here does. I think we can all agree that nothing we've complained about has cast us out of the game.

Well, one thing can definitely reduce or slow down collecting and that's cost. No one loves the cost. We all pay it, but we sure don't love it. I do understand some of the costs of today are not Wizkids fault. Our game comes over from China and the tariff war has raised prices. Again, you can agree or disagree with that, but I'm not just a writer, I'm a researcher too.

Plastic is a petroleum product and is certainly affected by overall world costs for it. Does that mean prices will go down eventually? I wouldn't hold my breath. Only grocery and department stores are known for price fluctuations. With collectibles only time and being out of date bring down costs. But who knows, hope springs eternal.

I love that the game is still going with great groups of people getting together to play. It shows that there can still be civility and comradery in people out there. It shows people can still gather in society. I think these days that's pretty important. Clix certainly serves me well to distract from the dumpster fires I see all over the news.

I like how Iconix is expanding with some cool themes and characters. I get concerned that it's going to get over merchandised like Magic and Funko Pops with clix for every single thing under the sun. I'm still waiting for my Godzilla clix however.

I hope you'll give this a subscribe or follow and stick with me. Heroclix is an adventure best with friends.
